Request for info reveals government in the grip of Satanic panic
It seems that the Queensland government has been paying very close attention to the activities of our humble little temple.
In May, we made a Right to Information (RTI) request to the Department of Education and to Minister Grace Grace’s office asking for all documents relating to the Noosa Temple of Satan and dating back to 14 October last year.
In reply, the government refused one of our applications…because there were too many documents!
Indeed, we were shocked to learn that the government has 2,492 documents relating to our temple!
The Education Department told us that it did not have the time and resources to dedicate to identifying, locating and collating all of these documents.
After some negotiation, our temple has narrowed the scope of our RTI, and the number of documents has been reduced to 872.
The only problem is it will cost us $2,512 to obtain them.
Our spiritual leader Brother Samael Demo-Gorgon is calling on Satanists across the country to chip in a dollar or two to help us raise the funds.
“It appears the government has become gripped with Satanic panic since we began our mission to teach Satanism as part of the religious instruction program in the public school system,” he said.
“If Satanists could sacrifice a beer or a blunt for just one week and send a dollar or two our way, then I’m sure we’ll be able to cover the cost of securing those documents.
“As you know, we’re in the midst of a major fight for religious freedom for all. If you value the work that we’re doing, please support us by making a donation.”
